Dr. Ramin Khoshsar, DMD

On October 25th, the community came together with Dr. Ramin Khoshsar and staff to celebrate the one year anniversary of Baker Ranch Dental Spa & Implant Center. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony with speeches from Mayor Scott Voigts and other esteemed city chamber members.

The state-of-the-art office was beautifully transformed into a cocktail party with decorations, cider, and appetizers. Everyone toasted as Mayor Scott Voigts shared his support for Dr. Khoshsar and the growth of Baker Ranch Dental Spa & Implant Center. The doctor shared his personal story and highlighted the unconditional support of his wife.
After the speeches and ribbon cutting event, everyone enjoyed a Mexican fest from the popular food truck, Maíz-Cocina. Attendees participated in the raffle wheel where they could win prizes such as free facials, free in-house whitening, and the a grand prize of a free dental implant.

We all have been there. You are at your 6-month checkup and your dentist asks you the dreaded question: “So, how often have you been flossing?”   A drop of sweat collects on your forehead as you think back to your failed efforts the past couple of months. You shyly reply “A couple times a   week.”  Even though you know that the bleeding of your gums is TOTALLY giving you away. To avoid this awkwardness in your next dental checkup,   here is our ultimate guide to make sure you are flossing like a boss!

  1. Break off a piece of floss that is approximately the size of your arm.
  2. Wind the floss around the middle fingers of both hands and leave a couple inches on both sides.
  3. Your index finger and thumb will press onto the floss stretching it as you position it between your teeth.
  4. Follow the curve in-between the two teeth near the gum line.
  5. Clean each surface of the tooth in an up and down movement.
  6. Unwind and use a fresh portion of your floss for every tooth
  7. Be sure to clean beneath the gum line (but avoid snapping the floss on the gums!)
  8. Repeat for each tooth.
  9. Be sure to floss every night. Remember if you are not flossing, you are neglecting 40% of your tooth surface!

  1. Your body will thank you if you do. Gum disease is often linked to heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and other health issues. By maintaining your oral health, you are caring for your overall health!
  2. Plaque acts quick! Skipping a few days of flossing allows plaque to solidify and firmly stick to your teeth. When you wait 48 hours after you eat, the cavity-causing substance is best removed by a professional cleaning.
  3. Not flossing can cause bad breath. Plaque buildup can release a bad smell from your moth. Put your best foot forward always and be sure to floss!
  4. For your implant! Flossing around your implant is important to maintain healthy gum and bone. Plaque buildup between the gum attachment and implant will increase the risk of implant failure.

Now that you know how to floss like a pro, go make your dentist proud!
